About the Department

The Community Development Administration is responsible for development, urban planning and building permits, parks and green areas, streets, water and waste, as well as catering and facility maintenance. Over 300 employees work here to make Ystad a great municipality to live, work, and thrive in.

We are now looking for a GIS Engineer with a focus on digitalization!

Within the Community Development Administration, we work across three departments. As a GIS Engineer with a digitalization focus, you will be part of the Planning and GIS Unit at the Urban Development Department. The unit consists of ten people: five planning architects, one administrator, three GIS engineers, and one planning manager. In addition to the Planning and GIS Unit, there are the Strategy Group, the Building Permits Unit, and the Surveying and Mapping Unit. Responsibilities

As a GIS Engineer with a focus on digitalization, you drive the development of the digital community development process in Ystad Municipality. You work closely with the unit's GIS engineers to stay updated on new developments and the opportunities offered by the municipality's GIS platform. You will be a key part of developing the administration's and municipality's digital environment and spreading knowledge about the potential of digitalization. In this role, you will lead your own assignments and be a key person in initiating and shaping new working methods and digital services within the community development field.

We have digitalized existing detailed plans for several years to create a reliable basis for internal use, digital services, and dialogue with involved parties. You will continue this work and are also responsible for the digitalization of planning materials and the development of services in areas such as cultural heritage, climate and environmental issues, and 3D in planning.

You monitor the external environment regarding the digitalization of the community development process and ensure that geodata, map services, and planning information meet accessibility requirements and are user-friendly for different target groups. Depending on the assignment, you report to the Community Development Committee.

Qualifications:

• Relevant university education in GIS, urban planning with a GIS focus, or other education deemed equivalent by the employer.
• At least 2 years of work experience working with the digital community development process, for example related to detailed plans, planning materials, geodata flows, or digital planning/map services.
• Good knowledge of ESRI platforms and services within ArcGIS, such as ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, and web map services, as well as good experience with Sokigo products - the Physical Planning module.
• Very good communication skills in Swedish, both oral and written.
